CEBU CITY (PNA) — A non-government organization (NGO) launched Thursday a center for children in conflict with the law (CICL) in Consolacion town, northern Cebu. Called “My Home,” the center is a project of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation-Integrated Development Center, Inc. (JPIC-IDC), a foundation run by SVD priests. The group partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which provided the lot for the two-storey building. Nanie Gonzaga, center administrator, said “My Home” will accommodate 60 CICL, ages 10 to 15, over the course of three years.
MANDAUE FLYOVER
CEBU CITY (PNA) — Rep. Gabriel Luis Quisumbing (6th District, Cebu) has endorsed a “tri-level” flyover project at the corner of United Nations Avenue and Plaridel Street in Mandaue City, which the Department of Public Works and Highways designed at the cost of more than R1 billion.
Quisumbing said the flyover was supposed to be funded using the R188 million that was originally allocated for a flyover on Ouano Avenue near the Parkmall and the Cebu International Convention Center at the Mandaue City reclamation area. “Due to increased traffic especially with the Cansaga Bay Bridge and north-bound and south-bound traffic, a tri-level flyover will help tremendously,” he said.

The Search-and-Rescue (SAR) training is part of the provincial government’s continuing disaster preparedness program to mitigate the effects of any disaster, according to provincial information officer Adrian Sedillo, who is also designated as one of the action officers of the PDRRMC. The 3rd batch is composed of 30 police officers, ten firemen and ten civilians, Sedillo said.
C.C.T.V. CAMERAS
PASSI CITY (PNA) — This 3rd class city from the central plains of Iloilo has achieved what other cities of its genre have failed. At least 28 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are now installed at key areas around this component city, some 50 kilometers northwest of Iloilo City, with high expectations that the monitoring facility will be of extensive help to the local Philippine National Police (PNP) in the prevention of crimes. City Mayor Jesry Palmares said his administration spent R8.3-million for the CCTV cameras, which have began to work round the clock, with more to be set up in the coming months.
