QC fire destroys P500,000 in property
An estimated P500,000 worth of property was destroyed in a fire that hit a two-storey ancestral house in Quezon City Monday night, a fire official said.
Fire Supt. Jesus Fernandez, Quezon City Fire Marshall, said the fire happened at about 10 p.m. Monday at the house located at Number 46 Betty Go Belmonte Avenue, Barangay Immaculate Conception, Quezon City.
The said house is owned by the Puyat family who is currently abroad.
Fernandez said that only the security guard identified as Juan Saldivar was in the area when the fire occurred.
Based on initial investigation, the fire originated at the second floor of the house, he said.
Fernandez also said that the fire was electrical in nature.
Fernandez said the fire reached the fourth alarm and was put out by firefighters at 11 p.m.
No one was hurt or killed in the fire. (Francis T. Wakefield)
