S.Korea to sell up to 97.5 trillion won of T-bonds in 2014
Seoul (Reuters) – South Korea’s government will sell up to 97.5 trillion won($92.39 billion) worth of treasury bonds this year, a finance ministry official said on Thursday, slightly down from 97.9 trillion initially planned following budget adjustments.
South Korea’s parliament ratified on Wednesday a 355.8 trillion won budget bill for the year, a marginally smaller version of a 357.7 trillion won proposal submitted by the government.
This resulted in a downward revision in treasury bonds to be sold for the year.
The finance ministry official said the government plans a net debt issuance of 38.2 trillion won for the year, up from 37.9 trillion won in 2013.
