Senior officials get key posts in PNP revamp
Manila, Philippines – Four senior police officials were given regional posts in a latest reorganization in the Philippine National Police (PNP) that also includes an acting director for the Manila Police District (MPD).
Director General Alan Purisima, PNP chief, said the reshuffle was already given a green light by the Senior Officers Placement and Promotions Board to fill up the remaining posts vacated by the recent revamp.
Named regional director of Ilocos Region was Chief Supt. Edgar Basbas, replacing Chief Supt. Ricardo Marquez, who was recently named head of the Directorate for Operations.
Chief Supt. Miguel Laurel was designated director of Cagayan Valley Region. He replaced Chief Supt. Rodrigo de Gracia, who was named head of the Directorate for Information Technology and Communications Management (DICTM).
The third official given a regional post was Chief Supt. Isagani Genabe, named as the director of Northern Mindanao region. He replaced Chief Supt. Catalino Rodriguez, who was appointed head of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) for the Visayas.
Genabe was replaced by Senior Supt. Rolando Nana as acting director of the MPD.
Chief Supt. Dominador Aquino Jr., was named director of the Caraga regional police.
Other officers affected by the revamp were Director Angelito Pacia, who was named new DIPO for Western Mindanao, and Senior Supt. Lavadia Gumira Jr., as head of the Eastern Police District.
