In Cebu, all 17 ECs are in Cebu City, specifically in barangay sites, namely, Sawang Calero, Pasil Elementary School, San Nicolas Church, Carlock School, Kasambagan Gym, Cogon Pardo Gym, Mormons Church, Abella Sports Complex, Gogon Ramos Gym, San Nicolas Elemenrtary School, Senior Citizen’s Office (Paril), Lahug Gym, Kasambagan Basketball Court, Brgy. Banawa Gun Club, Bulacao Community School, Barangay Tinago Gym, and Inayawan Covered Court.
In a phone interview with Manila Bulletin, Menchu Valles of Brgy. San Roque in the town of Maribojoc, gave an account of the total destruction of her house by the magnitude 7.2 tremor that struck the province Tuesday morning.
“We were unable to save anything because we were already on our way to Tagbilaran City when the earthquake hit,” she said, adding that most of her neighbors also lost their houses, driving them to all stay in makeshift tents near where their homes have been reduced to rubble.
Valles made an appeal for immediate relief assistance, particularly food and clothing, even as she said that these haven’t yet reached them as Maribojoc is now isolated from the rest of the province following the collapse of the Abatan Bridge.
