Valenzuela City’s 2013 income reaches P1.94B
The income of the city of Valenzuela in 2013 has reached P1.94 billion, 6.5 percent higher than previous year’s P1.82 billion.
According to the City Treasurer’s Office, more than half of the income came from tax collections amounting to P983 million.
During the celebration of its Charter Day last Friday, Mayor Rexlon Gatchalian awarded 28 companies in the city for fulfilling their obligations as taxpayers and for their job-generating efforts.
Some of the companies that were recognized include Manila Electric Company, Peerless Products Manufacturing Corp., WE Enterprises and Contractors Inc. and Innovative Packaging Industry Corp., and SM Prime Holdings Incorporated.
“I hope with these recognitions, these companies would feel how grateful the entire city is to their contributions,” Gatchalian said.
The local government started recognizing private companies who pay the largest amount of taxes in 1998 when Valenzuela became a city. (Carlo Felipe)
