Vhong Navarro hurt from Fort condo assault
Actor-TV host Vhong Navarro was allegedly attacked by a group of still unidentified men at a condominium in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Vhong’s manager, director Chito Roño, related some details of the incident in a statement sent to ABS-CBN News.
“Si Vhong Navarro ay naimbitihan sa isang condominium unit sa Fort ng isang kaibigang babae. At sa di pa malamang kadahilanan, siya ay piniringan, pinagtulungang bugbugin, ginapos, tinakot, at hinihingan ng pera ng isang grupo ng kalalakihan noong January 22, Miyerkules,” part of the statement read.
With the injuries that the 37-year-old comedian sustained, Roño shared that Vhong is unable to recount what happened, adding that he might have to undergo surgery.
“Si Vhong ay kasalukuyang nagpapagaling at mawawala ng pansamantala sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at iba pa niyang proyekto,” he also announced.
The member of the dance group “Streetboys” was not seen from the noontime variety show on Thursday and Friday.
Vhong’s “It’s Showtime” co-hosts, Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario and Jugs Jugueta, pushed on Twitter the hashtag, “#PrayForVhongNavarro.”
Vice, himself, seemed deeply affected with his friend’s ordeal, tweeting earlier, “Nakakaiyak. Nakakapanginig. Nakakapanghina.”
Fans and followers of Vhong also took to social media to express their grief over what happened to their idol.
@OnlyVHONGsters: “Please pray for Vhong Navarro’s fast recovery please guys! Hopefully yung mga gumawa sa kanya non ay managot! Godbless them. ”
