Vice expects ‘healthy competition’ with Kris, Coco in MMFF 2014
Comedian Vice Ganda has no qualms about being part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) even it means having his film compete with the movie of his close friends Kris Aquino and Coco Martin.
It has been reported that Vice will be fielding the sequel to his 2011 film “The Unkobagable Praybeyt Benjamin,” which would co-star him with Kris’s son Bimby Aquino Yap.
Kris and Coco’s film, on the other hand, is said to be a sequel to the 2004 horror movie “Feng Shui.”
“Friendly competition ito,” Vice Ganda clarified in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Last year, talk of heated rivalry between Kris and Vice was highlighted in the media with the two entering competing MMFF entries in “My Little Bossings” and “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” respectively.
Asked if he is pressured to duplicate previous successes, Vice said, “Totoong may pressure kasi hindi ba malalala ’yung records na sini-set ng pelikula ko. Mayroong pressure pero patuloy lang akong nagdarasal.”
He added, “Ang bait ng Diyos sa akin. He never fails me and I never fail to trust Him.”
If anything, the 38-year-old host is looking forward to working with Bimby.
“Sabi (ni Kris) magbabantay siya para maaga ang cut-off na pabor sa akin para ’di ako magdamagan mag-shooting,” he shared.
