Ormoc City (PNA) – Motorists are highly discouraged from driving when under the control of intoxicated liquid, and instead fight for safe journey at any time of the day – especially these “Ber” months, said city traffic division chief Sr. Insp. Orlando G. Viacrucis. He made the statement following a single motorcycle accident, particularly at the Malbasag Bridge here that involved three persons, who fell from the bridge to the river at dawn of September 5. The motorcycle was driven by Estelito Caguyong, 18, with passengers Norberto Puebla, 17, and Prudencio Estrera, 23, all residents of Sitio Macagpo, Cambalading, Albuera, Leyte. They came from a drinking session at the Tambulilid village, also of this city. Viacrucis said Caguyong confirmed they were travelling at high speed when approaching the bridge, where the three of them were thrown into the river. Viacrucis urged the motorists to refrain from driving when drunk to stay away from accidents.
