Tricycle driver slain in Bacolod


BACOLOD CITY – A tricycle driver was shot dead in a subdivision in Barangay Cabug here on Thursday, April 25.

Police identified the victim as Teresito Gepelga, 56, of Barangay Cabug.

Police Capt. Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9, said the victim was waiting for passengers when residents heard a gunshot. They went outside their houses and saw the victim on his tricycle with a head injury.

Gepelga was taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here where he was declared dead.

Tuburan said the victim was a resident of Barangay 35 here before he moved to Barangay Cabug two months ago.

Three weeks ago, Gepelga was confronted by another tricycle driver because for getting passengers despite being a colorum or illegal public utility vehicle.

Tuburan said they have no witnesses on the incident but they are looking for closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footages that can aid them in their investigation.
