Pangasinan cops destroy fully grown marijuana plants found in Labrador town
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – About 140 fully grown marijuana plants found in Barangay Tobuan, Labrador town were eradicated by anti-narcotics personnel on Friday morning, April 14.
Elements of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Pangasinan, together with other law enforcement units and the Labrador police, discovered the 500-square meter plantation after extensive surveillance and comprehensive investigation.
The two cultivators whose names were withheld were arrested and are now facing charges for violation of Section 16, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Pangasinan police provincial director Police Col. Jeff Fanged thanked the community for their support and cooperation throughout the operation.
Fanged urged residents to report to the authorities any suspicious activity.
“The eradication of the marijuana plants is one of the significant steps toward creating a safer, healthier community for the residents,” said Fanged.
