The northbound and southbound portions of the EDSA-Quezon Avenue flyover in Metro Manila will be partially closed for two weekends to facilitate road repairs, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
In an advisory, the DPWH said the repair work will commence at 11 p.m. on Aug. 9 and will continue until 5 a.m. on Aug. 12, with a second phase scheduled for 11 p.m. on Aug. 16 until 5 a.m. on Aug. 19.
"All repair activities will be conducted during the nighttime to prevent traffic congestion," the DPWH said.
The process involves the systematic removal of the existing asphalt pavement, lane by lane, followed by the application of new asphalt material across the cleared surface.
Similar procedures will be implemented for other sections scheduled for maintenance.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to consider alternative routes during the specified dates to minimize any inconvenience.
