Pres Marcos appoints 54 new prosecutors; 68 others promoted

A total of 54 new prosecutors had been appointed by President Marcos at the Department of Justice while 68 incumbent prosecutors have been promoted at the National Prosecution Service (NPS) of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“I congratulate the 68 newly- promoted and 54 appointed prosecutors,” said DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla in a statement. 

“Your promotion/appointment is very crucial to the DOJ’s commitment to strengthening the NPS, where you belong,” he said. 

The newly appointed prosecutors will be assigned to the various offices of the NPS nationwide, he also said.

“I now urge you to perform your duties efficiently and with dispatch, maintain your Zero-Backlog Policy, and sustain your high disposition rate,” he told the prosecutors.

Remulla expressed his and the DOJ's gratitude to President Marcos for making the much needed appointments which will address the agency’s heavy workload.

Among the 122 prosecutors, DOJ said five were promoted at the Office of the Secretary of Justice Prosecution Staff (OSJPS), namely, Prosecutor V Hazel C. Decena-Valdez, Prosecutor II Angelica A. Laygo-Francisco, Prosecutor II Luis Miguel Alonso Flores, Prosecutor II BOrgy Vedna Calugay, and Prosecutor II Gino Angelo Palmero Yanga.

The other promoted and the newly appointed prosecutors are:
