Jessy Mendiola cries foul over nasty comments

Published Dec 1, 2022 05:22 pm

Soon-to-be mom Jessy Mendiola recently opened up about the insecurities she is facing amid her pregnancy.

Some news sites have since picked it up.

Jessy reacted to an art card shared by ABS-CBN which quoted her as saying: "I really get insecure. People are saying kapag buntis ka, dapat lagi kang masaya. Pero honestly, mahirap sa akin tanggapin na talagang lalaki ako or magbabago yung itsura ko."

The actress replied to the post: "Hindi po buo ang nilagay dito na sinabi ko. Hindi lang physical looks ang pinagusapan namin na changes sa vlog ko. Bago bash, alamin po muna talaga ang buong sinabi ng isang tao."

"@abscbnnews buo sana ang nilalagay niyo, this was taken out of context. May kasunod pa ito na mas buong explanation," Jessy added.

"Sa mga nagcocomment ng nega, always remember may kanya kanya tayong pinagdadaanan. Kahit ano pa yan, respect other people's feelings and situation. Don't be so quick to invalidate other people's emotions. Hindi na sana ako sasagot, but I have to clear lang din kasi ang daming nagtatag sakin with nasty comments. Peace and love to everyone."

Jessy reposted the screenshot of her comment on ABS-CBN's post to her Instagram story.

She related: "This is what happens when news sites quote only a fraction of what you actually said. We end up getting bashed because of what was quoted has been taken out of context."

According to her, it was not the message she wants to share with her co-expectant mommies.

"Ibang iba ang pinagusapan namin sa Youtube vlog ko. Usually I don't answer sa mga ganitong bagay, but I just need to clear this out because what I said vs. what was written here is completely different."

Jessy once again sent a message to ABS-CBN.

"Sana kapag magsusulat kayo or magpopost, yung buo sana. Para hindi kami ang nakakatanggap ng negativity from people na nababasa lang kung ano ang ilalagay niyo. Tapos kami din ang sasabihan na wag nalang patulan o magsalita, parang medyo unfair. Some people are tagging me with nasty comments. All I wanted to do was share my experience/insights sa vlog ko."

Jessy also re-shared anew the inspiring message she shared before.

Her full post read:

"Some might think this is "mababaw" but for someone who struggled with body insecurities due to body shaming, this is quite a big deal for me.

"Kanya kanya naman tayo ng insecurities. Being pregnant is a GREAT BLESSING but also a HUGE sacrifice, especially if you've struggled with body image during your whole life. Not only it will affect you physically but also emotionally and mentally. Andyan na din yung "Ready na ba ako to be a mom?" "Am I gonna be good enough?" "Will I be able to do the things I did before I got pregnant?" You have to be ready for the changes your body and mind will go through. I wasn't at first, but as I saw my belly growing each day and the moment I started feeling my baby's strong kicks and movements... I've accepted that my body will change regardless of how much I try to live in the past. To all the expectant moms out there like me, remember... you have a growing HUMAN inside of you. It's not easy, but it's WORTH IT.

"Embrace your body and the changes that came along with it. Others will keep saying that you have to bounce back right after pregnancy. Your body - that just carried a beautiful human being for 9 months will always be there for you. So.. love it, accept it and take care of it. That body will take care of your little one too. Sobrang daming napagdaanan at mapagdadaanan niyan, pero andyan padin hindi ka iniiwan at lumalaban."
