LPA to bring scattered rains to Caraga, parts of Visayas
A low pressure area (LPA) east of Eastern Visayas will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Eastern Visayas, and Central Visayas.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated the location of the LPA at 365 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar on Wednesday.
Weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the LPA has a slim chance of becoming a tropical depression but may bring rains over the eastern sections of the country.
Scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rains may affect Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Island, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Samar, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
The southwest monsoon or "habagat" may also bring rain showers over Palawan and the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will still be warm and humid in the morning but with a high chance of isolated rain showers in the afternoon or evening due to active localized thunderstorms.
Air temperature in the next three days will range from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 24 to 33 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City, 15 to 24 degrees Celsius in Baguio City, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius in Cebu City, and 25 to 34 degrees Celsius in Davao City.
However, PAGASA advises the public to remain vigilant in the event of severe thunderstorms due to possible flash floods or landslides, especially in high-risk areas.
