The Department of Health (DOH) advised Filipinos Monday, especially those who visited and who have plans to visit Wuhan, China, to take necessary precautions and follow proper hygiene, in the wake of a spreading unknown virus.

Domingo also said those who have acquired symptoms similar to regular influenza should prevent contact with others. Domingo said DOH will also tighten its quarantine measures, particularly in airports, following reports on an unidentified respiratory virus originating in Wuhan, China and spreading in Hongkong and other areas. In an interview with DZMM Monday, DOH Undersecretary Domingo said the Bureau of Quarantine is closely monitoring Filipinos and foreigners coming in the country, especially those flying in from China and Hongkong. " Bureau of Quarantine, pagbaba sa airport ay talagang nakamasid na po talaga iyan, pero doble bantay lang po sa mga flight natin galing China at saka Hong Kong para ma detect natin agad kung may mga pasaherong may lagnat, ating interviewhin, i-physical exam," Domingo said. If there is a passenger with fever, they will interview him/her at once and conduct a physical exam.)
